Not nearly as wonky as it looks in this picture. A quick stitch for sure. First stitching since my hockey square last summer.

The finished quilt was delivered to me by Monique in early September, just in time for the Roger's House WRR event. I delivered it to Roger's House in person where it was very warmly received. I cannot thank all the stitchers who particpated in this project enough. Your generosity will not be forgotten!

Roger's House is a palliative care centre for children in Ottawa, Ontario. It was built based on the dream of late NHL hockey coach Roger Neilson and has much of his hockey memorabilia as well as that of the Ottawa Senators hockey team througout the centre. A generous group of stitchers is putting together a cross stitch quilt with hockey themed squares. We're still accepting squares so if you would like to be part of this charity quilt please
join us!

Title: 12 Blessings of Christmas
Designer: Lizzie*Kate
Details: I finished these up on December 23, 2006. They were stitched on 16 ct aida with DMC floss. For fast and easy finishing I purchased tuck pillows. The tree was already up and decorated and I didn't want to have to shuffle ornaments around, so you're seeing them hanging off my apothecary table! :)

Title: Snowman In the Window
Designer: Wichelt
Details: A freebie I stitched up a couple of winters ago. Finally discovered the no-sew cube method of finishing and voila - he was finished up in time to be on display this Christmas.

Title: Peaceful Forest
Designer: Bent Creek
Details: I stitched and had this one framed over 2 years ago (sometime in 2004). Stitched on fiddler's cloth with GAST. I had a spot in my living room all picked out for it... but that spot seemed too large for this piece. So I decided I would stitch Cabin in the Woods by Bent Creek to go with it. Here we are, two years later and Cabin in the Woods is a UFO. I went ahead and hung Peaceful Forest today and bought a framed print to hang with it for now!

Title: Morning Fairy
Designer: Dragon Dreams
Details: A Dragon Dreams freebie which I made some changes to. I'm not into fairies so I left off her wings. The original said coffee but I changed it to cocoa. My first finish of 2006 (can you say slump?) and a UFO finish at that! Finished and framed in September 2006; frame by Ikea.

Title: Snowman Ornament
Designer: Mount Forest Frameworks
Details: A darling kit from Mount Forest Frameworks - the 2004 Snowman Ornament Kit. Although I stitched this in December 2005 I chose to leave in the original date of 2004. Stitched on pink aida. Kit came complete with the cute little snowflake hanger!

Title: Foul Ball
Designer: Sam Hawkins
Details: A Christmas gift, stitched in November 2005. As always, I hated every minute of the finishing process. I just don't like making ornaments, which is too bad because I love them! Design from from "501 Cross Stitch Designs".

Title: Winter Blues
Designer: Stitchy Kitty
Details: This is Winter Blues, a freebie from Michelle Lutzen of Stitchy Kitty! I stitched this one on blue fiddler's with DMC floss. Stitched and framed in November 2005. The freebie was originally designed for a Yahoo snowman group that closed. Big thank you to Stitchy Kitty for adding this to her own Yahoo group when I went begging all over the internet for it!

I ordered it directly from the Dolly Dimple Designs website and I must say I received the very best customer service I have ever received. Fiona, the designer/owner is a gem to work with! This was so much fun to stitch with all the bright colours. Stitched and framed in October, 2005. (I apologize for the flash spot.)
